I was a MS and travelled alot. As few reached out in our hall, every night I'd have many parts. I'd go on holiday for a month at a time. But also attend the halls where I went and even helped in an international quick build.
They couldn't do / say much because if they booted me, the others would have way too much work.
Many were jealous as I was hoppin around the Caribbean as they had never left the state but oh well... when you don't wanna work and don't desire to educate yourself, what do you expect?

Did your responsibilities in the congregation prevent you from travelling?
by truthseeker inif you were a ministerial servant, or an elder, did your congregational responsibilities hurt your travel plans?
did you go to the meeting instead of going out with other witnesses for a vacation?.
did you say, "i'm taking out the group" or "i'm doing the sound" ?.

WITNESS MENTALITY TOWARDS THE TSUNAMI DISASTER
by Mary ini feel like screaming right about now...........the dickhead who takes our bookstudy group just came over and said "...i wonder how many brothers and sisters died in the tsunami disater.
" while that's a natural concern, his next comment blew me away "....it figures that the media hasn't bothered mentioning jehovah's witnesses helping out in this disaster!
" i looked at him stunned for a minute and said "and why on earth would they mention jehovah's witnesses?

It is interesting with the Witnesses and charity work and helping others. I've been a bit curious. Ok, in the Bible there is the parable of the good samaritan. He helped out the injured man without regard to his beliefs. Doesn't that contradict the WTBS? Isn't the WTBS acting like the others who walked past the injured man? Or am I missing something here?

To fill up the chilangomobile it is 200 pesos, or about $18.00. In the States I have my Chevy truck and to fill that up at $2.60 per gallon, well its like USD $55-60.00.

My take on it is a disturbing trend I've seen in the American legal system. As the US has protections for people, most of those protections are invoked when there is the threat of incarceration or criminal charges.
The US government agencies are going to more of a civil system where you are guilty until proven innocent, or the legal standard is a preponderance of the evidence, not the beyond a reasonable doubt standard. As the article stated, it was not a deportation and had fewer legal remedies.
Some examples of trends are the IRS, child support and local governmental agency fines as well as the expulsion. Basically the government agency gets to do what they want and will face less resistance whilst the citizen has fewer remedies. For all intents and purposes these are broad rebuttable presumptions drawn in the favour of the government. Take away somebody's right to redress grivevances and right to an attorney or make them exhaust administrative remedies with a kangaroo court, I mean administrative law judge or similar figure, and you discourage opposition or raise the stakes and price. -

If it was my child, I'd be having dinner with the chief of police whilst unknown attackers broke the legs of the offenders and mutilated their willies. The world is a dangerous place for some. Crime doesn't pay when you mess with certain ones.

Sounds nuts to me. I box every week with a trainer and may spar soon but would never just fight someone without training and practice. I am excited about fighting in the future to learn others techniques but w/o training, I'd probably not come out unscathed.

Guess who's coming to dinner??? I mean the Kingdom Hall yesterday for the meeting? Yes, pulled up in a limo and all. So the question everyone in the congregation is wondering, is Michael coming back? Cong. doesn't know how to deal with it as they don't want bad press.

Fighting experience?
by bebu inthe other night our son confessed that he had been in an after-school fight last friday.
some small kid was irritated with my son (who's nearly 14) and called on the services of a big friend to beat up my son.
(i actually saw the fight (sort of) as i drove past the school that day to go do errands, and pondered on whether i should stop... i didn't... because i actually wasn't sure it was a fight; it was a lot of kids in a loose crowd).

Dan-O's advice is sound, in my opinion.
Well fighting is bad but being a wimp or a tattler is perhaps worse. I was pretty non confrontational in jr. high and high school and would get picked on. But.. I had my limits and got in a fight about every 3 years and would beat the crap out of the other guy. It would get me respect until everyone forgot and another bully would come up and then i'd have to flex muscle. I learned to fight well and fair (i.e. don't hit a man whilst down, no kicking, etc). Unfortunately people these days do not fight fair.
